Bridgeport Man Charged With Negligent Homicide In Pedestrian's Death

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 26-year-old Bridgeport man has been charged in with negligent homicide in the death of a local woman hit and killed by a car earlier this year while crossing the street, according to Connecticut News 12.

Jerry Goncalves, who was driving on a suspended license, sped up at a red light when he hit and killed 31-year-old Sandra Vilsaint near Elizabeth Street and Barnum Avenue on Feb. 10, News12 said.

Friends and family said they were pleased an arrest was made in the death of Vilsaint, who was a hardworking single mother, added News 12.
