Bridgeport Homicide Victim Hoped To Find Missing Father

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 37-year-old Bridgeport man who was shot and killed on Tuesday as he sat in a car with a friend had been on a mission to find his father who has been missing since May, according to the Connecticut Post.

Fredrick Richardson Jr. was sitting in the front passenger seat when he was shot along with the driver, who was wounded but drove to Bridgeport Hospital. Richardson died and the driver suffered a non-life-threatening injury, according to the Connecticut Post.

A baker in Greenwich, Richardson had reported his father missing in May to Bridgeport police, according to the Connecticut Post. Since that time, he had put up posters and spent time looking for his father, whom he lived with, said the Connecticut Post.

Neighbors say they have not seen his father since early May, the Post reported.

Bridgeport police, who have not released the identity of the driver, are urging anyone with information on the shooting to call the Tips Line at 203-576-8477.
