Meanwhile, the shooter Michael Majors, 23, faces charges of murder for allegedly killing him. He appeared in court Monday, NBC Connecticut reported.
Police said they responded to the area of 1160 State Street in Bridgeport for reports of a shooting. When they arrived they found two teenage victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Colon was shot in the chest and died of his injuries at St. Vincent's Hospital, police reported.
Colon was crossing the street from a store when he was shot, and not in a "group" on the corner, as previously reported. Surveillance video shows Colon was not the intended target and was caught in the cross fire, the report says.
Another victim, a Trey Kaiser, 17, was shot in the hand and leg and taken to St. Vincent's Hospital. His injuries are reportedly "not considered life-threatening," NBC Connecticut says.
