The woman was hit at 11 p.m. Aug. 28 as she was leaving work at the Bridge House Restaurant on Bridgeport Avenue. A dark-colored sedan was seen fleeing the scene, according to police.

The pedestrian, later identified as 34-year-old Amanda Keane, suffered a fractured skull, broken neck, and broken back. A GoFundMe was set up last year by her boss.

The driver, 30-year-old Antonia Pierce of Bridgeport, was charged with reckless driving, evading responsibility and second-degree assault.

Keane, who still suffering from the injuries in the crash, can't remember the accident and cannot return to work, WTNH-TV said.

Police also told WTNH that Pierce lived in Milford at the time of the accident, near where it took place, but she moved out abruptly, leaving behind many possessions.
