BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport resident William Henry Mountjoy died Sunday, Jan. 10. He was 69.
Born in Hancock, Mich., Mountjoy "was a quiet, intelligent and very kind man," said obituary information from the Commerce Hill Funeral Home. "He enjoyed watching his game shows on television every night. Bill was brave and strong throughout his entire illness to the very end."
Mountjoy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mildred; mother Amanda (Maki) Mountjoy; daughter Karen Mountjoy of Stratford; brother James Mountjoy of South Range, Michigan; sister Virginia Long of Abilene, Texas; grandsons Tyler Milton of Norwalk and Devin Milton of Clinton, Maryland; great-granddaughter Aria of Norwalk; and many other family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, William James Mountjoy, and son Steven Mountjoy.
Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., in Bridgeport. A funeral service will follow at 11:45 a.m., at the funeral home.
