BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – William Kemp, 60, died Saturday, May 16.
He was born in Greenville, Ala., June 13, 1954, to Lee Edward and Susie (Fanning) Kemp. He graduated from Greenville High School and permanently relocated to Connecticut. He was gainfully employed as a manufacturing supervisor at Blaze Manufacturing of Stratford for 24 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and was married for more than 40 years to Lillian (McBride) Kemp.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepson David (April) Steele, Jr.; grandchildren Michara Griffin, Daheem, Jiani and Niambi Steele; great-grandson Kavion Jordan; godson Benji McKinney; brothers John Lee (Jackie) Kemp and Jerome (Tameka) Kemp; and sisters, Frances Dorsey and Sarah Toler; .
A Mass of Celebration will be held Friday, at 10 a.m., at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 275 Union Ave., Bridgeport.
Friends may greet the family from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will immediately follow in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Stratford Avenue, Stratford.
