He was the son of Martin and Anna (Skupien) Wawrzynski.
He was born in Bridgeport on Oct. 18, 1919. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 8, 1946.
Wawrzynski then went to work at the Bullard Casting Co. in Fairfield, where he was a machine erector for many years until his retirement at age 65.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ida (Messina) Wawrzynski; his daughter, Diane W. Marshall and her husband Dr. James Marshall of Orange; his daughter, Cynthia Kazzi and her husband Richard of Fairfield; and six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Orange Cemetery, Orange Center Road, Orange.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport.
