BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Rev. Mary B. Johnson, of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage. She was 72.
Johnson was born in Orangeburg, S.C. to Preston and Queen Ester Shuler, having lived in Bridgeport for 50 years and working as a certified nursing assistant for the Carolton Convalescent Home for 20 years.
She was predeceased by her parents, and is survived by her son Mark of Maryland; daughter Michelle Angel of New York; brother Thurman Keitt of Stamford; five sisters, Mabel Claybourne of Stamford, Darlene Arnett of Pennsylvania, Dean Ellis of Virginia, Charlene Spain and Betty James; five grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
A visiting hour will be on Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at West End Tabernacle C.M.E. Church, located at 265 Colorado Ave. in Bridgeport, with funeral services following.
Interment will follow in Park Cemetery in Bridgeport.
