BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Martin R. Autuori Jr., age 94, of Bridgeport, died Sunday, July 26, at Lord Chamberlain Rehabilitation Center.
Autuori was born on November 26, 1920, in Bridgeport to Martin and Rose (Ascolese) Autuori.
A machinist for more than 40 years at Handy and Harmon, Autuori served as treasurer of Local 7201 United Steel Workers of America. At the age of 14 he opened his own grocery store before working as a salesman for Natsens and The Brass Rooster clothing stores.
Survivors include his sister, Carne Stasolla of Fairfield, and, a sister-in-law, Rose Giaquinto Autuori of Shelton.
Autuori was predeceased by Rose, his wife of 70 years, his brothers Vincent and Dominic, sister-in-law Lillian Autuori and brother-in-law Nicholas Stasolla.
A funeral service will be held at Parente-Lauro Funeral Home (559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport) on Wednesday at 9 a.m. and at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine (2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport). Interment will be private at the family's convenience.
