BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Mario Marini, 81, of Bridgeport, husband of Maria Marini, died Monday, Nov. 2 at St. Vincent Medical Center.
Born in Torrice, Province of Frosinone, Italy, June 7, 1934, he was a son of the late Costantino and Angelina Testani Marini. A master upholsterer by trade, he was employed by the Joseph Marini Upholstery Shop, as well as Brown Brothers Upholstery for many years. A New York Yankees fan and avid bowler, he received several trophies for his accomplishments in duckpin bowling. He also found great enjoyment gardening, traveling and spending time with his friends talking and laughing while having coffee at the Circolo Sportivo Italian Social Club.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Maria, survivors include his daughters Angelina DiStefano and her husband, Dr. Arcangelo, of Easton; and Constance Marini of Bridgeport; two grandchildren; two brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by an infant sister, Maria Litizia.
Relatives and friends may greet the family from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
