BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Marene “Marnie” Gaynor McLaughlin, a resident of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, Jan. 6. She was 76.
McLaughlin attended The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, Conn., Hollins College in Roanoke, Vir. and The Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, Mass. She moved to Vero Beach in 1975 and lived at John's Island for 25 years. She was a loyal and tireless "Pink Lady" volunteer at Indian River Medical Center for many years.
She is survived by her daughters Mimi McLaughlin of Bridgeport; and Alexandra Amos (Jay) of Ft. Lauderdale; and by her grandchildren Caitlin, Victoria, Austin, Bowen, Annabel and Chase.
She was predeceased by her companion Ernesto Ego-Aguirre, M.D.; her mother, Frances Belknap; her father Lawrence Cremin Gaynor; her step-sister Lynne Crowley; and her son, Jonathan.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marnie's memory may be made to the Substance Awareness Center of Indian River County, 1507 20th St, Vero Beach, Fla.
