Cotas was born Nov. 8, 1974, in Bridgeport, to Domingos Cotas of Nogueira, Portugal, and the late Teresa Cotas of Ardaos, Portugal.
He was employed as an HVOC tech, and he enjoyed clamming, fishing, sports and time with family.
In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a brother, Antonio Cotas.
Survivors include daughter, Melanie Theresa Cotas; girlfriend, Jenn Davidson; his father, Domingos Cotas; his sister, Anna Cotas and her husband Americo Cotas; and his brother, Michael Cotas and his wife Christine Cotas. He also is survived by nieces, Stephanie Cotas, Alexa Cotas, and Gabriela Cotas and a nephew, Chavier Cotas.
A service is planned for 8 a.m. Friday in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport, followed by Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Road., Bridgeport.
