BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Jimmie "Babie" Rembert, 57, of Bridgeport died Saturday, Oct. 3, at home.
Born in Bridgeport to Jesse and Mary Preston Rembert, he was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a self-employed auto mechanic and also worked for Milex for a number of years.
Rembert was a member of the Flaming Knight Motorcycle Club and the Cadillac Crew.
He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Jesse and Johnny Rembert; a sister, Janice Lindsay; and a granddaughter, Paige Rembert.
He is survived by three sons, Jimmie Epps of New York, Shawn Rembert and Michael L. Grant of Bridgeport; three daughters, Sakia and Shy're Epps and Stalita Rembert, all of Bridgeport; a brother, Rodney Rembert and sister, Annette Rembert of Bridgeport; seven grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m. at Morton's Mortuary Inc., 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport, with the Rev. Johnny Gamble officiating.
