BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – James A. "Butch" Martin, 64, a resident of Bridgeport, died Sunday, June 14, at St. Vincent's Hospital.
Martin was born Dec. 22, 1950, the sone of the late Dorothy Martin and James A. Martin Sr. and Mabel A. Martin. He graduated from Central High School and previously worked for Bridgeport Machines. He also worked for Andy's Transportation & Storage while living in Glendale, Calif. He was a member of Cornerstone Christian Center of Milford.
He is survived by two daughters, Alicia Martin of Virginia and Lureatha Harvey of Hawaii; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; three siblings, all of Bridgeport; six nieces and nephews; his fiancée, Juliet Smith of Bridgeport; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Martin was predeceased by two sisters and a nephew.
Calling hours will be held Friday, June 19, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Cornerstone Christian Center, 349 Wheelers Farm Road, Milford. Service will follow at 10 a.m. in the church with Pastor Alfred D. Watts officiating. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery, Bridgeport, following the service.
