Funeral Services Set For Michael Borucki, Longtime Trumbull Police Officer

TRUMBULL, Conn. — Services have been scheduled for Michael J. Borucki, a 22-year veteran of the Trumbull police force who died Monday, Nov. 20. He was 47.

Borucki, the husband of Kristine Wilson Borucki of Trumbull, died at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. 

Born in Bridgeport on Feb. 15, 1970, he was the son of Joseph M. Borucki Sr. of Florida and Rosanne P. Striebe Borucki of Bridgeport.

Borucki was a graduate of Trumbull High School, Class of 1988, and the Trumbull Police Academy, Class of 1996. 

He was a police officer with the Trumbull Police Department with over 22 years of dedicated service.

Borucki also enjoyed motocross, riding dirt bikes and working on old cars. He was proud that his sons shared in his passion and found comfort in knowing that they will carry on his legacy, his obituary said. 

"He was family-oriented, a great father and loving husband," his obituary said. "His lightheartedness and comical sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him."

In addition to his parents and his wife of 23 years, Kristine, he is survived by two sons, James Michael Borucki and Steven David Borucki; a sister, Lori Rose King of Trumbull; a brother, Joseph Michael Borucki, Jr. of Trumbull; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Lois Wilson of Trumbull; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Wright of Seymour; as well as seven nieces and nephews, Chelsea and Peyton King, Alannah Borucki, Christina Rodrigues, Joey Borucki III, Tom and Dan Wright. 

The family also extended a special thanks to all the doctors and staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital, Dr. Goldberg's office, his nurses; Georgia Kay and Jackie Wake, the staff at Connecticut Hospice, Chief Michael Lombardo, Retired Chief Thomas Kiely, as well as the entire Trumbull Police Department, and the many family and friends who provided so much love and support.

Friends may greet the family from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.  

A celebration of his life will take place at noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery. 

The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Borucki Family Trust for the children's education, c/o The Trumbull Police Department, 158 Edison Road, Trumbull, CT 06611. 

"Officer Borucki was an active member of the Trumbull Police Department for over 20 years. He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, continuing to work as recently as two weeks ago," the Trumbull Police Department said in a Facebook post. "Our condolences go out to his family and friends."
