Born in Portugal, Leal immigrated to the United States in 1972 and settled in Bridgeport.
He was a machine operator for Precision Resource for many years, before his retirement. Leal was a simple man who enjoyed the little things in life, especially time spent with his family, especially his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Aurora Baia Leal; daughter Celia Domack and her husband Jason of Oxford; grandsons Michael and Kevin; brother Jose Carolino of France; sisters Ana Lopes of France, Lourdes Fernandes of Portugal and Ilta Leal of France; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Leal was predeceased by his parents, Alice Dias Leal and Adelino Martins Caralino, and brothers Antonio and Adelino Carolino.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road in Trumbull. Funeral services will be at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, at the funeral home, and mass will follow, at 9 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, also in Trumbull.
