BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Betty T. Fountain Best, 67, died Saturday, April 25.
She was born in Eden, N.C., on May 31, 1947, to Irene Broadnax Fountain of Bridgeport and the late King David Fountain. She was a longtime resident of Bridgeport. Her occupation as a cosmetologist allowed her to beautify everyone she encountered with her talents.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard R. Best Sr.; two daughters, Richetta (Clyde) Joyner and Norma Best of Bridgeport; one son, Richard Best Jr. of Bridegport; six sisters; four brothers; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Best was predeceased by one son, Montee Rodale Best, and four siblings.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at Fountain of Youth Cathedral, 324 Madison Ave., Bridgeport. Calling hours from 9-11 a.m. will precede the service. Services entrusted to George J. Peterson Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
