The Transportation Committee as well as the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee passed Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s bill authorizing the state Department of Transportation to develop and implement state tolls on I-95, I-84, the Merritt Parkway and other state routes, such as Route 8 and Route 9.

Another bill requires a study and a formal proposal by the state Department of Transportation, and then a second vote by the Legislature next year, before tolls are authorized.
