Kenneth Brickhouse, 36, also known as "K.E." was sentenced Thursday in Bridgeport for drug and firearm offenses, Deirdre M. Daly, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced. His prison sentence will be followed by five years of supervised released.

According to court documents, Brickhouse obtained heroin and cocaine from Bobby Gutierrez and other individuals and then sold them to customers and other distributors. Between February and May 0f 2016, officials say Brickhouse made multiple sales of heroin and cocaine to law enforcement officials. Investigators also intercepted hundreds of calls and text messages involving Brickhouse that involved drug sales during this time, according to Daly.

Brickhouse was arrested on May 26, 2016. On that day police search a Norwalk apartment that Brickhouse used to store drugs, convert cocaine into crack cocaine, and conduct sales. They confiscated approximately 500 bags of heroin, two baggies of cocaine, a loaded 9mm pistol, and ammunition, according to Daly. They also seized a .357 revolver and ammunition from a vehicle Brickhouse used to conduct drug sales, Daly said.

Brickhouse has been detained since his arrest. In September he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.

The investigation was conducted by the DEA's Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, the Stamford Police Department, the Norwalk Police Department and Connecticut State Police. It involved court-authorized wiretaps, controlled purchases of narcotics and physical surveillance.

Brickhouse has an extensive criminal history that includes federal convictions in 2001 for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, using and carrying a a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking offense, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He served 127 months in federal prison before his release in November 2011.
