FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Delays on the New Haven Line during the Wednesday evening rush hour were due to trespassers on the tracks in Westchester County, N.Y., according to Metro-North and NBC New York.
As of 7:30 p.m., train riders on the New Haven Line into Connecticut were continuing to experience delays of up to 45 minutes due to congestion.
Delays were also reported on the Danbury and New Canaan branches.
Trespassers on the tracks near Mamaroneck forced Metro-North to shut off power from the New Rochelle to Harrison stations as police searched for the people on the tracks, NBC New York reported.
Service had resumed by Wednesday evening, but delays were reported for hours.
