Ganim: Vibes Tribe Owes Bridgeport $750,000 For Police Overtime

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Four of Bridgeport's biggest events and attractions owe the city more than $1 million in back rent and other fees, including the annual Gathering of the Vibes music festival, which owes $750,000 for police overtime, according to the Connecticut Post.

Mayor Joe Ganim’s administration said the other offenders include nearly $525,000 in back rent City Hall claims it is owed for Captain’s Cove Seaport, the Webster Bank Arena and the Ballpark at Harbor Yard, reported the Connecticut Post.

Calling them "deadbeats," Ganim, who pledged to hold the line on taxes during his campaign last year, has been complaining he inherited a $20 million deficit from ex-Mayor Bill Finch, said the Connecticut Post.
