BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Donations to help victims of a Bridgeport condominium fire have been pouring in since the New Year's Eve blaze left more than 90 people homeless, according to a report on NBC Connecticut.

The remains of the building have been demolished, and the American Red Cross is helping find shelter and provisions for the displaced people, NBC Connecticut reported.

One resident, University of Bridgeport student Sai Ahbishek, said he was rescued from his third-floor apartment by firefighters using a ladder truck, according to NBC Connecticut.
