Caitlin Nelson, a 20-year-old junior at Sacred Heart University died last Sunday after she had choked days earlier during a pancake-eating contest on the Fairfield campus. The entire SHU community mourned the death of Nelson , the daughter of a Port Authority policeman who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks on the World Trade Center. The medical examiner ruled that her death was due to asphyxia . Her family donated her organs before she was laid to rest in her native New Jersey.
Tracey Edwards, 44, a Bridgeport man with a lengthy criminal history, is facing charges in two towns after two unusual events. Edwards was arrested Wednesday and charged with attacking Westport police officers after speeding through the center of town and crashing near the Saugatuck River. He had been arrested last weekend after Fairfield Police said he caused a scene at a Mercedes dealership while on PCP.
