Did you get snow overnight?
- Yes, I can't believe it
- Yes, but it was just a coating
- No, I don't see any at my house
- Maybe, but it melted fast
But even worse, strong winds have caused over 15,000 power outages statewide. A High Wind Warning remains in effect until 2 p.m. Sunday, and freezing temperatures will hit overnight.
Here are overnight snow totals for Fairfield County:
- Newtown: 2.8 inches
- New Fairfiield: 2 inches
- Bethel: 2 inches
- Danbury: 1 inch
- New Canan: 0.5 inches
- Wilton: 0.5 inches
- Bridgeport: Trace
The snow was winding down in the morning, but the wind remained. Fairfield County could see sustained winds of 40 mph with gusts of 58 mph, which is strong enough to knock down tree limbs and power lines.
High temperatures Sunday will be stuck in the 30s with wind chills in the teens. Sunday night, temperatures will drop into the 20s with more snow possible overnight.
A freeze warning is in effect from 8 p.m. Sunday until 10 a.m. Monday. The freezing temps will kill sensitive plants if not protected and brought indoors, the National Weather Service warns.
