BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- You might be the state's first $2,000,000 prize winner if you bought a Mega Millions ticket in Fairfield County.

According to the Lottery Office, the winning ticket purchased in Fairfield County for the Tuesday, Jan. 26 Mega Millions had the winning numbers 14-27-39-50-69 and Mega Ball 2. The Megaplier was 2.

A total of 9,473 winning Mega Millions tickets were sold statewide on that date with values ranging from $1 to $2,000,000 each. Because the winning ticket holder added the Megaplier feature to their Mega Millions ticket for an extra $1 at the time of purchase, their $1,000,000 prize was automatically multiplied by two for an incredible $2,000,000 prize win.

The state lottery is encouraging players to check all of their tickets carefully. Tickets can be checked online at ctlottery.org , by scanning in a lottery Ticket Checker, or at any lottery retailer location.

Officials say there are other unclaimed jackpots in Connecticut, and that by checking all your tickets, you might just be a winner. Here are the currently unclaimed top prizes and the counties where the winning tickets were sold:

  • Jan: 12: Lucky for Life $25,000 year for LIFE! New Haven County
