BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Connecticut Department of Transportation will close vehicular traffic paths on Route 113 (Main Street) in Stratford, near the border of Bridgeport, from July 27 through Sept. 1 to complete the road’s alignment and Runway Safety Area near Sikorsky Airport.
The CDOT will close the area between Sniffens Lane and Dorne Drive as crews finish the roadway tie-in at the north and south end of the project that began on July 5, 2014. Construction is slated to wrap up around the end of April, 2016.
Bike and pedestrian lanes will remain open where possible. With road work scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, detours will be in place.
The southbound Main Street detour will start at Access Road and continue through Lordship Boulevard, Bluff Avenue, Prospect Drive and Stratford Road before ending at Dorne drive. Local traffic will be allowed between Access Road and Sniffens Lane.
