Ramon "Blade" Killings, 39, was also sentenced to three years of supervised release in connection with the woman's death, said U.S. Attorney for Connecticut Deirdre M. Daly.

In the early morning of Dec. 4, Stratford Police responding to a 911 call at a local home found a 33-year-old woman who had died from a suspected drug overdose in the bedroom, according to court documents and statements made in court.

Officers collected wax folds containing suspected heroin, a hypodermic needle and other drug paraphernalia from the bedroom. The investigation determined that the victim’s boyfriend had purchased heroin from Killings the previous evening, and then he and the victim injected the heroin he had purchased.

In December and January, law enforcement made controlled purchases of heroin from Killings.

On Jan, 18, Killings was arrested on a federal criminal complaint. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of quantities of heroin and crack cocaine.

On May 24, he pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of heroin.

Killings, who is released on bond, was ordered to report to prison Sept. 8.

This matter stems from an ongoing statewide initiative targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, fentanyl or opioids that cause death or serious injury to users.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Stratford Police Department. The task force includes personnel from the Norwalk, Stamford, Stratford, Milford and Bridgeport Police Departments, and the Connecticut State Police.
