BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- About 140 golfers recently gathered to participate in the 40th Annual Dan & Yolanda Adley Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit Boys & Girls Village in Bridgeport.
The “Rally for the Children” Pro-Am Tennis Tournament also was conducted in conjunction with the golf tournament, with 13 tennis players taking part.
Proceeds support at-risk youth and families who are provided much-needed behavioral health, permanency planning and special education services at Boys & Girls Village’s Bridgeport and Milford locations, according to a press release.
Following a day of competition, there were raffle prizes, a silent auction and dinner -- all emceed by Keith Kountz, anchor at News 8, WTNH Connecticut.
Net proceeds from this year’s tournament grew by 27 percent from last year, according to a press release.
“The Dan & Yolanda Adley Memorial Golf Tournament is a signature event," said Steven Kant, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Village in a press release. "It not only gives us a chance to spend a fun day together with like-minded supporters, but it also brings attention to the significant needs of children and families in our area who we can help."
