BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Residents can learn how to receive health insurance under health care reform plans during a free enrollment fair hosted by Access Health CT in Bridgeport on Saturday, Nov. 21.
The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St Vincent’s Family Health Center located at 762 Lindley St. It will provide information on how health care reform will impact residents and their families, explain how people might receive financial help, and provide assistance in enrolling for health care coverage through Access Health CT.
Visitors who attend the fair will be able to meet with an insurance broker or an AHCT employee who can help them enroll in the plan of their choice. People attending the event should bring the following information with them:
- Most recent tax return
- Employment information
- Current insurance coverage
- Visa, green card or other immigration documents
- Social Security numbers
“Open Enrollment is a crucial time for Connecticut residents who are looking to enroll in a new insurance plan or for those who are renewing their plan and want to ensure they are getting the best coverage for their money,” said Access Health CT CEO Jim Wadleigh. “Some of the products we are offering have changed since last year so we encourage everyone to shop for the right plan. Our Enrollment Fairs give us the opportunity to serve as a resource for residents to help them choose the right plan based on their specific needs and help them avoid the tax penalty.”
Open Enrollment began Nov. 1, and runs through Jan. 31, 2016.
