First Baby Born At Bridgeport Hospital Arrives An Hour Into 2016

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The first baby born at Bridgeport Hospital arrived just over an hour into the New Year.

Anthony Josiah Rosa of Stratford was the first baby born at Bridgeport Hospital in 2016. The first child of Julia Serrano and Jesse Rosa, he arrived at 1:20 a.m., weighing an even 8 pounds.

Thirty minutes later at 1:50 a.m., the first baby born in the hospital to Bridgeport parents was Noah Sebastian Mora. The son of Perla Espaillat-Mora and Angel Mora, he arrived at 7 pounds, 1 ounce.

The hospital reports that both moms and babies are doing well – and so are the dads. 

At Danbury Hospital, the first baby of 2016 was Eily Sophia Abreu Almonte, who was born at 3:41 a.m. Friday to Karina Almonte and Mark Anthony Abreu and weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces, according to the News-Times.

The first baby to arrive in 2016 at Greenwich Hospital was Holden Robert Hynes, who arrived 2:39 a.m. weighing 9 pounds and 3 ounces, according to Greenwich Time. He is the son of Loren Raszick Hynes and Scott Hynes, the story said.

Alex and Meegan Bluman are the parents of the first baby born in the New Year at Stamford Hospital, Beatrice Ann Bluman, who weighs 6 pounds and 14 ounces and arrived at 2:06 a.m., the Stamford Advocate said.

At 1:55 a.m., Norwalk Hospital and parents Stephanie E. Scofield and Anthony J. Taliercio welcomed Anthony Joseph Taliercio Jr., weighing 9 pounds, The Hour reported.

The first baby born in Connecticut in 2016 made his appearance just after the ball dropped, according to NBC Connecticut. Nimson James Carr was born at the University of Connecticut Heath Center in Farmington at 12:02 a.m., NBC said.
