BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The WorkPlace Inc. held commencement ceremonies for graduates of the Platform to Employment program on Oct. 16.
“Since its inception, the percentage of P2E graduates that have found employment has been consistently higher than the national average,” said Joe Carbone, president and CEO of The WorkPlace. “We are very excited for P2E participants and look forward to powerful and successful stories for each of them as they reach their milestones and meet their ultimate goal to employment.”
A total of 81 participants from classes in Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven, North Franklin and Waterbury graduated at the ceremony.
Also, 37 percent of the graduating class was unable attend because they had already been placed in a trial work experience.
P2E features five weeks of classroom training, an eight week work experience program and a curriculum of self-assessment, change management, effective communication and strategies for job search.
