BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Friends of the Bridgeport Public Library will host a series of Thursday and Saturday afternoon book sales throughout the month of April to benefit the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Bridgeport.
The sales, which will be held on April 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 28 and 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will take place at the downtown main library, 925 Broad Street.
A large variety of fiction and nonfiction books for both adults and children will be available, including some in other languages.
All proceeds from the sales will benefit the Friends’ partnership with Literacy Volunteers, which provides free adult education services, including basic literacy, English for speakers of other languages and the National External Diploma Program.
