Bridgeport Announces Four Hurricane Relief Efforts For Puerto Rico

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The City of Bridgeport has announced four relief efforts for those who’ve been ravaged by hurricanes in Puerto Rico.

The Council of Churches is accepting monetary donations for Convey of Hope at Church of God Center of Life, 594 Harral Avenue.

Drop-off times are: from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays; and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Greater Bridgeport United & Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County will accept monetary donations for the American Red Cross from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the East Side Senior Center, 1053 E. Main Street.

A CTBPT United for PR Radio Telethon will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at Sazon y Mambo, 1691 Main Street.

The group will be collecting monetary donations and water, feminine hygiene products, waterproof flashlights, medicine, powdered milk for babies and adults, diapers, wipes, antibacterial wipes, generators and chainsaws for Puerto Rico’s Mayor’s Association Federation.

The ongoing El Flamboyan PR Relief Effort will take place from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday at 1001 E. Main Street.

This group will be accepting monetary donations, water, medicine, flashlights, batteries, baby food, candles, matches, medical equipment and bandages.
