Her talk will be on Feb. 9, at the Saugatuck Congregational Church at 245 Post Road E., Westport. She will talk.

Fulco was honored last May by the Deadline Club of the New York City Society of Professional Journalists for the excellence of her teaching and the professionalism of her advising. In September, she was named Westport’s Teacher of the Year.

But it is as a teacher of journalism that gives her a special perspective on what the future of the field might hold. She praises her students as talented, passionate, driven, inquisitive, honorable and accomplished, and thanks to them, she says, “the future of journalism looks very bright.”

Fulco is a Connecticut native who holds a degree in women’s studies in addition to an undergraduate degree from the University of Mary Washington in Virginia. She is in her ninth year as a teacher at Staples.

The Y's Men of Westport/Weston is an organization of retired and semi-retired men with a continued interest in activity, fellowship, learning and community service.
