12-Year-Old Trumbull Girl With Epilepsy Walks To Raise Awareness

TRUMBULL, Conn. — Trumbull resident Maddy Rondon doesn't just talk the talk when it comes to raising money and awareness for epilepsy; the 12-year-old quite literally walks the walk.

Maddy Rondon, 12, hopes to continue raising awareness about epilepsy.

Rondon and her team took part in the Sharon's Ride/Run/Walk in West Haven on May 13 and managed to raise over $3,500.

Rondon has been battling the disease since she was 9. Her fight includes having to take regular medication, fighting seizures and sometimes memory loss.

Epilepsy is a disease that thousands throughout Connecticut suffer from, but questions linger about the disease with the people that suffer from it and in the medical field.

This year was the third year that Rondon and her team participated in the walk. She hopes her fundraising efforts will help answer some of those questions.
