Tusk & Cup Fine Coffee, 51 Ethan Allen Hwy., Ridgefield (203) 544-0800
The Fine Grind: This little bit of “Tuskany” in the hills of Connecticut caters to both coffee geeks and folks who just want to grab a cup before hopping on the train at the Branchville station across the street. Presided over by its mascot, a frisky looking pachyderm, the café has a fireplace to cozy up to when it’s cold outside, and an outdoor patio to sit on when it’s not. With its “state-of-the-art” Italian espresso and other machines, it doles out coffee, tea, handmade gelato, sandwiches, and soups from its marble countertop. There are plenty of plugs for gadgets and free Wi-F, a must for us tech-addicted Fairfield County residents.
Most Popular Brew: Tusk’s signature blend is the “Branchville Brew,” a blend of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, and Costa Rican and Indonesian Sumatra beans. But customers also rave about the marrocchino topped with a decadent dollop of Nutella and the Crema Fredda, a frappe-style frozen coffee drink slathered in whipped cream. Customers say the espresso is always right on the money, too.
