BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The recent nip in the air reminds us that while winter may be peeking at us from around the corner, at The Adventure Park at The Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, the treetop fun continues through Nov. 29. In addition to regular fall hours of operation, the Park has some special fall events planned.
Oct. 30 – Zombie Outbreak! Climb among the zombies and, if you dare, join in for “zombie tag.” Just $38 gets you a discounted climb of up to three hours in the trees plus your zombie tag supplies. Ages 7 – adult. (No running, please -- zombies don’t move very fast anyway!) No reservations necessary. Walk-ins welcome.
Nov. 1 – 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Costumed Kids Discount - Climbing discounts for kids if they come in their Halloween costume. (Costume should be suitable for climbing activity.)
Nov. 1 – 12:00 p.m. through closing. The Iron Monkey - Park Closed for this reservations-only event. This extreme endurance race is for athletes, age 15 and older, looking to bring their challenge to new heights. Climbers will compete for the best time as they make their way through every level the Adventure Park has to offer, all 11 aerial trails. The climber with the best time wins an Unlimited Season Pass good through 2016, and legendary bragging rights. All participants receive an Iron Monkey T-Shirt. Reserve online. Check-in is from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Contestants must check-in to participate.
Aside from zombies, kids in costumes and iron monkeys in the trees The Adventure Park’s regular fall hours continue through Nov. 29 as climbers don sweaters and gather around The Adventure Park’s fire pit in between their climbs, while the trees above sport their colorful fall foliage. (Roasting marshmallows and s’mores are not uncommon around the fire pit too.) The Adventure Park is a picture-perfect fall outing for friends and family.
