“It is with regret that we are announcing that due to some recent changes, Miro Kitchen has had to close,” the owners posted on Instagram. “We wanted to thank our regulars (and not so regulars) as well as all of our customers for their loyal support over the past year.”
Named in memory of the former Miro Farms farmstead that once stood on the site, Miro Kitchen was owned by Eugene Kabilnitsky, a Stamford resident who has a background in finance. He had opened Tomato & Basil at the same site in 2010 before selling that popular business three years later.
When the space came open again, Kabilnitsky told Daily Voice he jumped at the change to give it a go again with a new Hawaiian- and Asian-infused menu.
Miro Kitchen specialized in a la carte items, such as tacos featuring pork belly, braised octopus and Philippine chicken adobo, as well as Hawaiian staple poke.
“Everything we do, we try to do it with a little twist,” Kabilnitsky said shortly after opening. “Either as a visual or a taste wow factor.”
Though Miro Kitchen won’t be posting on social media regularly, the owners encouraged friends to continue to follow the accounts for “updates.
“It has been a pleasure serving you,” the Instagram post reads.
