Anne M. Doucette collected her cash Monday at CT Lottery’s headquarters in Rocky Hill, according to CT Lottery officials.

According to Lottery officials, there are three remaining $500,000 prizes left out of 2,197,479 tickets.

A player's chance of winning one of three remaining tickets is 1 out 3.32 million.

“Telling the winners stories is a great way to let people know that real people win, and they might be your neighbor," the Lottery said. "It's also a way to remind people to check their tickets."

Because, believe it or not, a lot of winnings go unclaimed and the winnings return to the Lottery.

Currently, there's an unclaimed $1 million prize on a Powerball ticket from Jan. 6, that was sold at the Stop & Shop in Kensington. The winner has until July 5 to claim the prize.

There is another unclaimed $1 million prize from a May 2 winning Powerball ticket that was sold at Georgetown Shell in Wilton. The winner has until Oct. 29 to claim the prize.

And Tuesday night, there were two $100,000 Cash5 winners with the winning tickets sold at East Avenue Gas Station in Norwalk and Winchester Deli LLC in New Haven.

Doucette bought her ticket at New’s Express at 200 Tunix Hill Road in Fairfield, the Lottery said.
