FAIRFIELD, Conn. — State-of-the-art fitness room? Check.

Outdoor fire pit and barbecue grills? Check.

Heated saltwater pool? Check.

The Trademark Fairfield, a 101-unit apartment complex just a short walk from the Fairfield Metro train station has opened for leasing, touting amenities not often seen at this end of the county.

“We are so very excited to introduce Fairfield’s first Class A luxury apartment community,” said Aristides Koutouvides, principal at Skala Partners, which developed the 2.5-acre site with Fairfield’s Abbey Road Advisors and Boston-based ELV Associates. “We look forward to our residents enjoying living in this community for years to come.”

Located at 665 Commerce Drive, the apartments are some of the first housing in an area Fairfield hopes will become a burgeoning neighborhood for both young professionals and empty nesters looking to be close to retail shops and public transportation.

The Trademark offers studios, one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den and two-bedroom units with an array of floor plans. Top models offer private patios as well.

The complex is geared to fostering community through a club house and private conference room, a fitness center, a resort-like outdoor deck with a fire pit and permanent BBQ grills and the swimming pool surrounded by lounge chairs and cabanas.

Workers were putting the finishing touches on a bocce court Friday and residents can even get a little dirt under their nails in the raised community garden plots.

With the train station within walking distance, the complex caters to commuters with indoor bike storage, electric car charging stations and storage units and trash and recycling on each floor.

The complex will also include retail shops and restaurants on the ground level in coming months.

Apartment rental prices start at $1,955.

Want to take a peek inside? The Trademark Fairfield will host a public open house and tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 9. To schedule an appointment for a tour, call 203-255-4000. For more information, visit www.trademarkfairfield.com .
