Black Rock Farmers Market Receives DVlicious Certificate

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -The two women behind the creation of the Black Rock Farmers Market -- Karyn Leito and Michelle Margo -- said they were "beyond thrilled" to receive the DVlicious "Best Farmers Market in Fairfield County" award.

The 2-year-old market tied with Westport for top honors (see previous story here).

"Thank you to everyone who voted for us," said Leto. "Our market is truly blessed to have such an awesome community of people who support it. We are so excited to have achieved so much in just two seasons."

The closing market, including local artisans, will be held Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The end of season Halloween Hootenanny will be Oct. 31, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. featuring Walrus + Carpenter, beer tastings by Two Roads Brewery, and more.
