BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The St. Vincent's SWIM Women's Imaging Center will offer free and low-cost digital mammography screenings at their mobile mammography van.
The hours are:
- Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bridgeport Health & Wellness Center, 2979 Main St., Bridgeport,
- Monday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sterling House, 2283 Main St., Stratford.
Mammograms are for women age 40 and older and are free for those who do not have health insurance, have financial limitations and qualify for assistance. For those who do not have insurance but do not qualify for free services, mammograms are discounted. Appointments are required for this exam. For those who have insurance, please bring your card at the time of visit.
To schedule an appointment, call St. Vincent's SWIM Women's Imaging Center at 203-576-5500. The mobile mammography program, one of the largest free mammography screening programs in Fairfield County, is made possible through St. Vincent's SWIM Across the Sound.
St. Vincent's SWIM Across the Sound is a charitable not-for-profit organization run by the St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation of Bridgeport that serves 30,000 people annually by providing over 45 programs, including cancer education, screening, prevention and support programs at low- or no-cost for the uninsured and underinsured.
