BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Downtown Cabaret Children’s Company in Bridgeport is presenting "Princess and the Pea" as it closes out its 40th anniversary season.
Shows will be on April 16-17, Saturday and Sunday, at noon; and April 23 to May 22, Saturdays and Sundays, at noon and 2:30 p.m.
When a handsome young prince falls in love with an unknown princess, there is only one way to prove she is true royalty. Based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen, this new retelling of the classic story is filled with music and a few surprises along the way.
Also, participants can get a chance to be crowned prince and princess by the Princess and get a picture with the cast on stage.
Participate in the “Guess how many ‘peas’ are in the jar” contest. Each guess is $1. The jar will be located at the will call window.

Ticket prices are adults for $23, children for $19. Performances run no longer than 75 to 80 minutes with a 10-minute intermission.
