BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Downtown Thursdays concert series is continuing throughout July at Bridgeport's McLevy Green.
“The Downtown Thursdays Concert Series has been even more successful than last year,” said Mayor Bill Finch.
“We are seeing thousands of people coming downtown for free concerts and free family friendly fun. With the Thursday night crowd comes extra business for local restaurants and shops boosting the economy, revitalizing downtown, and making Bridgeport better every day.”
The City, Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District, and their partners, will be hosting three more Downtown Thursdays. The remaining bands performing this summer include:
- July 9, opening act: Cosmic Jibaros; headliner: Javier Colon; after-party host: Two Boots of Bridgeport
- July 16, opening act: Slammin’ Band; headliner: The Wailers; after party host: The Bijou Theatre
- July 23, opening act: Val Ramos Flamenco; headliner: Son 7; after party host: Tiago’s Bar and Grill
The all-ages festivities are free to the public. Beer, wine and water will be sold during the concerts. The City and DSSD will not permit outside alcoholic beverages at the concerts. Each after-party is 21 and older.
McLevy Green is located just a few short blocks from the Bridgeport Metro-North Railroad Station and GBTA.
