BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Elvis will be in the building when "Stars In Concert" opens for three performances at Bridgeport's Downtown Cabaret Theatre next month.
He will be portrayed by look-alike performers, along with Michael Jackson, Bette Midler, Whitney Houston and Tina Turner. The tribute show from Germany pays homage to the world’s legendary stars of yesterday and today.
"Stars In Concert" is produced by Bernhard Kurz, who started the show in 1997 at the Estrel Berlin, Europe's largest hotel, convention and entertainment center. There it has received critical acclaim and is one of the longest running live shows in Germany's history.
Kurz has signed 40 artists that rotate regularly for performances. He's received awards including "Best Producer" at the Artist Choice Awards (2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007) and the Reel Awards (2004, 2009, 2010 and 2016) in Las Vegas. He also received Lifetime Achievement Award in Las Vegas in 2006.
The Bridgeport shows will be the East Coast premiere of the popular show. Performances will be Friday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 8 at 5 and 8:15 p.m.
