BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- One of Bridgeport's much-loved entertainment spots, the Bijou Theatre, will close its doors for the last time on Aug. 7, according to the Connecticut Post.
The early 20th century movie house confirmed on Friday that its current production, "Bring It On," will be its final, said the Connecticut Post.
The non-profit, which has a $60,000 annual budget, said it was a financial decision and the theater couldn't make it on community support, and the small amount they received in state and local funding, added the Connecticut Post.
The building's owner said he hopes to find another tenant that will take over the building and keep it as a theater, said the Connecticut Post.
